In this session, we will explore what makes a great teacher through interactive activities, and how a career in teaching can be significantly rewarding. Have fun investigating the potential and possibilities of a teaching career and learn about studying education with us at the 91Æƽâ°æ.

Engineering - Innovating the Future: Exploring Research Opportunities in Engineering, Robotics and AI
This engaging session provides an overview of groundbreaking research projects at the School of Engineering, focusing on cutting-edge advancements in robotics, artificial intelligence, and their transformative applications across various disciplines and industries. Students will discover how they can collaborate with researchers at 91Æƽâ°æ through Engineering and Built Environment (EBF) project-based courses.

Engineering - Introduction to Drones and AI
This session provides an introduction to drones and their integration with Artificial Intelligence (AI). Participants will learn about various types of drones and their applications, followed by a demonstration showcasing different drone models. The activity will also include hands-on experience with drone simulation and control using MATLAB. Finally, participants will engage in flight testing of nano drones in an indoor lab environment, applying their newly acquired skills in a practical setting.

Engineering - Shake It Up! Exploring Earthquake Engineering
In this hands-on activity, students step into the shoes of earthquake engineers! Working in teams, they will design and build small-scale structural models using simple materials. Then, they'll test their creations on a simulated earthquake platform to observe how their designs perform under different seismic conditions.

Geographic Information Systems - Monitoring and mapping natural disasters by satellite remote sensing and GIS
Since satellite data started to explain the global environmental conditions in the 1970s, a revolutionary change has occurred in natural resource management and disaster monitoring. This session will teach the basics of satellite remote sensing, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and how to map disaster-affected areas on Google Earth using two case studies. Students will engage in hands-on exercises to create a map about recent devastating floods in QLD/NSW using MODIS satellite data in the Google Earth environment.

Law - What is 'equity' in legal studies and how does it protect vulnerable persons?
Students will be introduced to the concept of 'equity' and its role in creating more balanced and fairer legal outcomes for vulnerable persons, in comparison to the common law. The equitable principle of 'undue influence' will be discussed and students will be given case studies to work on in groups and will be required to articulate their outcomes.

Making Movies: How to create your own film and TV show
Making Movies: learn how to make either a television show in 91Æƽâ°æ's own TV studio or come on-set to create your own short film. Students are put into groups where you will actively be part of a movie or TV show production team!

Physics - Plasma Globes - exploring application of Physics!
Plasma is the most common state of matter in the universe and was the first state of matter to exist after of the big bang. We don’t find plasma on the earth’s surface naturally. We might be familiar with plasma globes as an interesting toy to observe, but we can learn a lot of about different concepts of Physics with a few simple activities. This activity will involve learning about plasma and related physics concepts through interactive use with plasma globes. While plasma globes are awesome to have and look at, they teach us a lot about what plasma is and the world around us.
